  As the year draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on a decision that fundamentally shaped my 2024. This year, I set out with a simple yet profound theme: to be, and surround myself with people who genuinely wanted me around or truly needed me around. As the holiday season rolls in, December becomes a time of joy, celebration,  and gratitude. For most employees, it’s the season of Christmas bonuses  and 13th-month pay—rewards for their hard work throughout the year. But  for performers like myself, who aren’t traditionally employed, we experience  a different kind of “bonus.” Our Christmas bonus comes in the form of added opportunities—more  shows, more bookings, and the chance to bring joy to people during their  corporate Christmas parties or year end events. It’s the busiest time of the  year, and I’m incredibly grateful for it. Being fully booked in December is a blessing I never take for granted.
